Fun AlwaysRobert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have reportedly asked to promote New Moon separately, in hopes of quieting rumors that the two are a couple.
The line between reality and fantasy has gone completely out the window when it comes to the Twilight phenomenon. First, fans seem to be thoroughly convinced that vampires, werewolves and other super-natural beings are, in fact, all around us. And now these same fans want so badly to believe that the two main stars of the movies - Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart - are in fact truly in love off the screen.Fun Always

It would seem, however, that most young fans make no distinction between the characters of Bella and Edward and Stewart and Pattinson. Most of the fans of the movies have read the books, which means that these characters existed for them in advance. Once they were personified and brought to life by relatively unknown actors at the time, it seems that they actually "became" Edward and Bella.Fun Always

Obviously, this is nothing new when it comes to Hollywood and fans' obsession with certain cinematic franchises. We've seen it most recently with Harry Potter. How long do you think it will be before Daniel Radcliffe will be considered as anyone other than Harry Potter? Quite possibly never.
Fun Always
But for Stewart and Pattinson, there problem is the fact that the movies benefit from a public perception that the two are a couple in real life. All movies seem to benefit from that for some odd reason. Perhaps it is our yearning to believe in a fantasy world where things are somehow more balanced and perfect than our own realities will allow. Difficult to say, but it would appear that Stewart and Pattinson are going to have to go to great lengths to convince people that they are not "actually" in love - and that they are not really named Bella and Edward.Fun Always
